The Cave You Fear to Enter

Aug 1, 2019

“The cave you fear holds the treasure you seek. Fear of the unknown is our greatest fear. Many of us would enter a tiger’s lair before we would enter a dark cave. While caution is a useful instinct, we lose many opportunities and much of the adventure of life if we fail to support the curious explorer within us.”

- Joseph Campbell

What if feeling fear is actually a signal that there’s something much bigger that's possible for you?

So many of us spend years or even our whole lives distracting ourselves and hiding from the fear that stands between us and living the life we truly desire. We're stuck in limbo — we won't face our fears, nor will we face our dreams.

I’ve become a curious and courageous explorer of my own fears, because I now know the payoff of facing them is so much greater than any discomfort I may feel along the way.

If we can learn to stop running, hiding and shrinking and instead face our fears head-on, our lives will expand in ways beyond our comprehension and be forever changed.

What is the “cave” you fear to enter? That deep secret desire that you’ve kept buried, the one you only hint at and dance around? Say it out loud or write it down and you'll be amazed at how it morphs from terrifying to exciting. Tag a friend to share your secret with — they’re your accountability buddy! ⠀
